Additional aid of €100,000 to the wildfire victims by Alphamega Hypermarkets

The CEO of Alphamega Hypermarkets and members of the company’s management visited Arakapas to record the needs of those affected by the catastrophic wildfire

Alphamega Hypermarkets has reaffirmed its commitment to provide immediate support to all those affected by the recent catastrophic wildfire, at a meeting that took place today, 6 July, at Arakapas’ Community Council, with the participation of state officials and local authorities of the affected areas.

Alphamega Hypermarkets’ CEO, George Theodotou, as well as members of the company’s management, had the chance to talk with the area’s community leaders, taking note of the needs of those afflicted as well as of the problems that lie ahead of them.

In statements, Mr Theodotou announced that, apart from the €500,000 that has already been donated, the company will offer an additional €100,000 in vouchers so as to cover the immediate needs of the permanent residents of the affected areas in food and essentials, while he also said the company intends to provide support to the families of the four victims of the fire.

“It has already been announced that we will donate the sum of €500,000 for the immediate relief of those affected by the disaster. We have decided that part of this sum, more specifically €60,000, will be given to the families of the four victims of the fire. In these difficult times, the most important thing is to remain united, solidary and humane”, he noted.

As Mr Theodotou pointed out, in accord with the area’s community leaders, the company will contribute the remaining sum towards covering the real and immediate needs of those affected.
