Brand New Butchery Training Course, offering immediate recruitment opportunities

Organized by ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets in collaboration with

the Culinary Arts Program of Intercollege and the Training and Development Unit of the University of Nicosia

Τhe launch of a brand new training course was announced, to local media, at a press conference held on Thursday, 14 April 2022. This new initiative is being organized by ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets in collaboration with the Culinary Arts Program of Intercollege and the Training and Development Unit of the University of Nicosia.

Speaking on behalf of ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets, George Theodotou, CEO, and Marios Antoniou, HR Manager saluted this new initiative. On behalf of Intercollege, Nicholas Kythreotis, Executive Director, equally saluted this effort during his conference address.  Last but not least, the Pancyprian Butchers’ Association President Costas Livadiotis delivered an address.

The press conference was also attended by: Marios Tsiakkis, Secretary General of CCCI, Michael Antoniou, Director General of OEB, Stefanos Koursaris, General Secretary of POVEK, and other special guests.

The Training Course was then presented by the Hypermarket’s Master Butcher Neophytos Neophytou and Chef Panicos Theodosiou, Culinary Arts Instructor at Intercollege.

All parties involved expressed, throughout the conference, their enthusiasm about the program and revealed their shared aim, which involves assisting to cover labor market shortages aiding the profession’s sustainability.

The Butchery Training Course, a fast-track course, offers professional training and links theory and practice through the various courses it offers. Classes, taught by experienced field experts and professors, will take place at the modern premises of Intercollege and University of Nicosia and at ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets’ Meat Laboratory. The training course offers European Qualifications Framework (EQF Level 4) Certificate of completion and immediate recruitment opportunities at ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets. Further, the course boosts attendees’ employability, allowing them to pursue careers in relevant sectors in Cyprus and the EU.

Through the Butchery Training Course, which is delivered with the support of the Pancyprian Butchers’ Association, ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets continue to contribute to and strengthen the local community and economy, while collaborating with the Culinary Arts Program of Intercollege and the Training and Development Unit of the University of Nicosia.
